Springtime is PLAYTIME!

Winter doesn't ever seem to want to end! The weather is blustery, the field is still covered in snow and we haven't been able to break out our spring jackets yet. We are all getting a little cabin fever and are anxiously waiting for weather warm enough to get out to play. In the meantime we have to settle for evening wagon rides with winter hats and with the kids snuggled under a blanket.

I made this card today since it is barely 30 degrees outside and we are inside again this morning. I"m submitting it to the Looks Like Spring at Fantabulous Cricut.

I used Create a Critter for the animals and clouds, Nate's ABCs for the wagon (then realized create a critter had it's own wagon!), Straight From the Nest for the grass, and Playtime for the phrase at the top.

Ugly Paper Challenge

My brother-in-law and his girlfriend, Shellane, came up to dinner and I quickly had her intrigued by my Cricut. So, we made some cards together. We decided to go with the ugly paper challenge at Queen of my Craftroom. What a fun challenge!

We started with this paper:

We used lots of different cartridges in this one to find all the words and shapes we needed. It was a lot of fun crafting with her for the first time - I never even knew she was crafty and thought for certain she would think I was a total dork.

Bring on the babies!

Lots of friends are pregnant or having babies this time of year so I'm working on projects for them. Tonight I made a card for a friend having a baby boy. Despite some issues with my cricut blade which I'll have to solve tomorrow it went much better than my other attempts have gone. I do have to admit that I love my paper cutter with the scoring blade - I used that a lot for this project.

This card will be my first entry into a "challenge" as well. I'll submit it for Create a Critter Page 50 challenge at
M.A.G. Challenge by the page. I'm xcited to do a challenge and more importantly to have some direction in where to start so I don't have to look at my booklets for hours before deciding what to do!!

Peer Pressure

My sister has always been light-years ahead of me in just about everything. It seems as though now that we are adults our two year age difference shouldn't still mean she gets to do the cool things before me. But, she does! She tried to convince me for years to get a Facebook page and I finally gave in three years ago. She had this little Ipod Touch that I totally didn't understand and now I can't live without mine. On Black Friday we hunted down a Cricut machine to do crafts and I thought she had gone over the deep end. Yet, here I am, not even a full year later addicted after only one week of crafting delight. I'm staying up late stalking Cricut cartridge deals on Ebay and was even talking to my husband in my sleep about making cuts on the Cricut. So, when she told me this weekend to start a blog I decided not to fight it as it was inevitable that I would give in and do it eventually. I am by no means an artist or an expert, but I'm a mom who loves to do arts and crafts and I hope you enjoy sharing crafting ideas with me!
